Participants

Participants in actionThere's only one criteria to fulfil if you want to become an Award participant; you must be at least 14 and you must be able to complete your Award by your 25th birthday (it takes at least 6 months to complete an Award).

If you are under 14, then you will have to wait a little before you can get involved, but we'll still be here when you're ready!

If you are over 25 then don't despair! You're not past it yet as you can get involved as a leader, visit the leaders page to find out more.

The DofE Award is open to people from all backgrounds and ability levels, with groups in all areas of Edinburgh. Examples of groups where you might participate are:

  • In your school
  • At university
  • At a youth club
  • At a dedicated Award centre
  • At your work

If you are interested in taking part your first step is to find out whether your school, college, university, work or youth group run the DofE Award. If so speak to the leaders involved about joining in.

If you have no luck there get in touch with us and we'll find a group for you to join.

For more information on what it's all about visit The Duke of Edinburgh's Award website.
